Setup our stuff in the garage for a Good Friday jam session and played for Grandma & Grandpa on Easter Sunday too! Had a blast! Added Louie, Louie to our song list too. Next song to learn is Jumping Jack Flash by The Rolling Stones.

March 21st, 2010

Had a blast yesterday with our March Madness/Bunco bash jam session in front of our biggest audience of the year! Had Brian K. as guest guitarist and despite never having practiced with us- AND never even hearing some of the songs before, he did a great job! it was pretty cool having someone to add some guitar licks to the tunes. See the show!

March 6th, 2010

Two concerts in one day! Performed for the boys friends in the afternoon, and for Grandma Neta's 75th birthday at night! Check out the concert video (part 1)!

February 21, 2010

We've been working on some new tunes: Dirty Deeds by AC/DC and our first original, "Rock & Roll Lullaby". Just started working on Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin too. At this week's guitar lesson, Colin worked on Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne (again). He had learned the intro (shown in the video) a few months ago, but never went back and learned the whole song.

February 15, 2010

We have our first confirmed 'real' gig lined up! A birthday party for one of Colin's classmates in June. Still trying to convince my sister to let us play my nephew's graduation party, but it's not looking good. We were going to put together a rock arrangement of "Pomp & Circumstance", and a blues tune just for him too. Oh well. :(

Jan 22, 2010

Big event today! We bought a new keyboard amp- a Behringer ULTRATONE K900FX Keyboard Amp/PA System. We also bought our first lights! The lights are just a cheap Chauvet Color Bank 4-Color Sound-Activated Light but they're still pretty cool!

Brendan's working on a couple of new songs on keyboard- Bon-Jovi's "Runaway" and "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. Colin learned most of "Dirty Deeds" by AC/DC at his guitar lesson today. We hope to add those three songs to our set list soon.

We're also working on our first original! A song called "Rock n Roll" lullaby that Colin and I wrote. Stay tuned!

Not resting on our laurels after our awesome Christmas gigs, the band is now working on some new material. Songs on our 'to learn' list include:

Malaguena

This is a classical piece that sounds great on a Spanish guitar. We're working on adding some guitar work for Colin, and a pulse-pounding drum beat for Adam.

Brain Stew

This Green Day song is pretty easy to play which makes it great for us! We also like the way its simplicity makes it easy for us to 'take some liberties' with the song to make it our own.

Crazy Train

The boys were secretly working on this classic Ozzy Osbourne tune (see the video) and we decided it's definitely one to learn. Still have a long way to go though!
